Cape Alava & Sand Point at Ozette
Today I touched a star!!!!!!! Fish that is, a live starfish. Barbara and I went to Ozette and did the 9.2 triangle hike that leads to the bay at Cape Alava. The beach was very rocky and massive and the starfish are amazing!!! We also climbed Sand Point - what a spectacular view! This place is awesome!
Victoria, British Columbia
Canada is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to Vicoria with my friend Barbara. It is the cleanest city I have ever been to in my life!!!! It is very British and we had high tea at the Empress Hotel. We also went to a castle, a McDonald's with chandeliers and the art museum was featuring an Andy Warhol exhibit. I almost purchased a fur purse - but then again does a person really need a fur purse in Houston, TX? Leaving the United States of America wasn't much of a problem, even when I indicated I only had my DL and social security card - No problem, I was told. Until I tried to reboard the ferry going back into the US. Mr. Serious (Officer Sadenko for the very first Cheech and Chong movie) didn't find me amusing at all! He did not care who, or where or why or even how I was able to so easily get into Canada, he did NOT want to let me back into the US!!!! At one point I asked him, "If I was to be permanently detained in Canada and since they had a public health care system, could I get my teeth fixed for free?". Didn't find that funny either!!!!!!!!!! Long story short, he ran my drivers license through some sort of national computer system (really was concerned about that bad check I wrote to JC Penney in 1992!!!!!!) asked me my mothers maiden name, thank God I gave the correct answer and then let me re-enter the country!!! Wake up people - BIG BROTHER REALLY IS WATCHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marymere Falls
Marymere Falls is located 1 mile from the lodge, the trail actually starts here. This was my first trail hike, I went alone and it took about an hour and a half. I was so overwhelmed by the falls located "in the middle of nowhere". It was definately surreal. I met a couple from China on the trail - they did not speak English, but they did manage to ask me if I would like them to take my picture!!!!!! Those crazy chinese!!! LOL The trees started reminding me of the trees in The Wizard of Oz movie, you know the whole Dorothy picking off an apple and the tree being pissed off thing. This transpired on my way back and I just wanted outta there!!!!
Fairholme Store & Marina
This is the store and marina. My office!!!! It is a really tough job, but sombody's gotta do it!!!!
My Home
This is where I actually live. It is set up like "youth camp" or "summer camp" for those of you without Benton, IL experience!!!! LOL No tv, no internet connection, no walk in closet - just a bed, a desk and a bathroom between the two rooms that I share with my "suite mates". It is so primative, but yet so fabulous!!!! I'm going to hang posters of '80's glam bands on my wall!!!!!!!

I'm off to the Olymic National Forrest and I hope you will enjoy my journey. My plan is to let you all know about my daily activities - everything from the beautiful scenery, places I go, things I see and all the crazies I meet along the way!!!!

WAS BEGINNING TO THINK RANGER RICK TOOK HER UP TO THE BIG TREE HOUSE IN THE WOODS ON THE MOUNTAIN AND WAS NEVER GOING TO LET HER COME BACK AGAIN.
