Hey all. I have finally arrived at Lake Crescent Lodge. It wasn't easy getting here. I left Houston Hobby airport at 6:45 am Monday morning. I arrived in Seattle at 12:30 pm, 2:30 Houston time, but my luggage was not so fortunate. I was suppose to catch the Olympic
Bus lines shuttle at 1:00 pm, but opted to wait for my luggage to arrive on the next available flight. The next available flight was to arrive at 5:10 pm and that still allowed enough time for me to catch the last shuttle of the day at 5:45pm. Well, that was all good - in theory. I was informed at 5:30 pm that the 5:10 pm plane was running "a little behind schedule" and was assured it would
definitely be in by 6:30 pm. Okay, I must confess, I did turn into Linda Blair and I really am surprised airport security did not send me to some sort of airport holding cell for people who have become deranged. But, if I had not turned into that deranged human being, Southwest Airlines probably would not have paid to have my luggage
delivered via Federal Express the next day - so it was worth it. I did indeed catch the Olympic Shuttle and was just starting to relax and take note of my surroundings, maybe take a little nap - it is a 3 hour trip from Seattle to Port Angles - when suddenly a very loud, very ill sounding noise started coming from the engine. Ron the bus driver (don't ever mention my name to this man - we do NOT have a good
repoire!!!!!
LMAO) assured us he could make it to the Greyhound Station in Seattle and once he could assess what was wrong we would be on our way.
MMMM HUH - okay - thought that was do able, until the carbon monoxide fumes started filling the bus and the 300 lb. handicapped woman behind me started having an asthma attack!!!! Ron said "just open the
windaws (yes he pronounced it
windaws) and you will be fine". Okay, time for Linda Blair STRESSED!!!!! Hence the not a good
repoire with Ron thing!!!!! Long story short, we spent 2 hours at the Greyhound Bus Station until another bus could arrive and take us to our destinations. I arrived at Lake Crescent around 11:30 pm.
Believe it or not somehow it was all
worth it. This is the most beautiful place on earth!!!!!!!!!!!
